In this magnified reproduction of a computer, the normative relationship between the keyboard and the screen (i.e. if a key is pressed, the corresponding letter is printed on the screen) is disengaged. Both the keys and the characters on the screen, are presented as self organized systems, independent from each other but defined by the same rule (a mathematical model deriving from chaos theory.)
The keyboard follows the classical “Windows”/PC schema, yet departs that representational mode to show one of the infinite possible combinations that the mathematical model allows (the keyboard is not presented as a “constant” but as an interchangeable element.)
The characters on the screen follow a non-linear trend, which escapes the linear course of writing, and which generates what Flusser defines as an image.
Here a space is proposed, which is not ruled by order, stasis and control, but by movement, action and event. The mechanisms of linearisation are altered, so that their function of order and classification is eliminated.
